Jim Harman has the unique distinction of managing both the world’s Most Admired and Least Admired Brands in the span of his 20+ year career in marketing and communications.
As head of Advertising and Identity for GE from 1990 to 2003, Jim managed the world-famous “We bring good things to life.” ad campaign under the direct supervision of GE’s legendary CEO Jack Welch.
In 2003 he joined Tyco International as part of new management team to not only salvage the company’s reputation, but also to save the company from bankruptcy. He developed Tyco’s new positioning, advertising and identity.
Jim’s work at both GE and Tyco has garnered many industry accolades, includingseveral Clio Awards and Effie Awards. He was named a “Global Innovator” by Ad Age Magazine for his trendsetting GE communications programs and his ad work for Tyco was named the “Best Corporate Ad Campaign” in 2005.
